WRITING FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT

Everyone has stress in his or her life, and everyone also has a story to tell. Through guided writing prompts, and using a variety of writing tools and techniques, participants will explore their individual stories and identify and analyze their individual stressors and discover alternative responses to stress.

No writing experience necessary!

Before you send your manuscript off, you’ll want to polish it one more time. In this presentation, Corbin Lewars and I will talk about some of the most deadly writing sins that many fiction and memoir writers make: spineless stories, smothering prose, sensory deprivation, redundancy, ineffective backstory, slippery point of view, and a host of other messy issues. Mason, I’ll be presenting a writing workshop on how to craft compelling literary scoundrels at the Pacific Northwest Writers Association annual conference (Thursday, July 28, 2016). Each month Kona Stories hosts an event with local and traveling authors. This event happens the first Tuesday evening of the month starting at 6 PM. Authors are available to talk story while you are getting your plate of pupus and glass of complimentary wine. Authors then give a  talk about their books and themselves, the writing and publishing process or a short reading from the book.
